Full Itinerary
Day 1: Guilin Arrival (B)
Say hello to Guilin. Met and escorted to the hotel by our experienced local tour guide. Enjoy breakfast, refresh yourself in a comfortable room or roam around the city and start your exploration for the rest of the day.
Day 2: Guilin (B, L)
Wake up in the fresh air of a typical morning in Guilin and savor a breakfast. Follow the tour guide to take a cruise trip along the spectacular Li River which is famous for the breathtaking natural beauty praised by generations of Chinese. Dive in the poetic landscapes with green hills reflected in the crystal water, green bamboo leaves waving in the breeze, buffalos slowly eating grass and a glimpse of Chinese rural life on the two sides.
After a flavorful lunch, pay a visit to the beautiful ancient town Yangshuo and be amazed by the variety of Chinese handicraft collections.
Transfer back to your hotel in a private car or van for dinner and a good rest in Guilin.
Day 3: Guilin - Chongqing by Flight (B, L, D)
The morning tour begins in Guilin’s highlighted Reed Flute Cave. Enjoy the “Art Palace of Nature” full of stalactites, stalagmites, oddly rock forms, stone pillars, and flowers gleaming in the colorful lights. Fulfill your energy in lunchtime, then head to two magnificent karst hills Elephant Trunk Hill and Fubo Hill on the second half of the day. The hills offer such a fantastic overview of Guilin and Li River.
The dinner is served before your fight to Mountain City- Chongqing. Stay overnight in pre-arranged hotel.
Day 4: Chongqing - Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Have buffet breakfast in the hotel before a free morning in Chongqing. The first destination in the afternoon city tour is Ciqikou Ancient Town, the living preservation of the old life in the bustling modern city. The old houses dated back in Ming and Qing Dynasty has been remained relatively intact until today.
Take refreshment and transfer back to the city center and gaze over General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum located in the Yuzhong District. In the museum, you can gain insights into the common but colorful life of the General who made a great contribution to the liberation of China during World War II.
Feast on dinner and get escorted to the Dock for your Yangtze River trip. Rest yourself in leisure in your cabin on board.
Day 5: Yangtze River Cruise- Fengdu (B, L, D)
Enjoy breakfast and spend the morning cruising along the mighty Yangtze River. In the afternoon when refreshment is done, you will disembark in the northern bank of the river and have a shore excursion to Fengdu- the Ghost City. The city, as its nickname suggests, is recognized for the mystical afterlife culture with a variety of architectures, temples, and statues.
As the sun sets, move back to the cruise ship for warmly dinner. Get some drinks and have fun with other tourists before a good rest.
Day 6: Yangtze River Cruise- Little Three Gorges (B, L, D)
Continue your cruising trip along Yangtze River in Little Three Gorges. Watch the ship carefully sail over the narrowest gorge of three, Qutang Gorge. After lunch, you will reach Wushan, then change for smaller boats to explore Daning River or Shennong Stream.
Afterward, reboard to enter the fairyland in Wu gorge with green mountains, impressive cliffs, and rock formations rising towards the sky from emerald water, which is all covered in the blanket of mist and clouds. Remember to grab some nice pictures of the famous 12 peaks of Wu Gorge.
Another Chinese dinner and comfortable night on the cruise ship.
Day 7: Arrival at Yichang and Flight to Xian (B, L)
Slowly savor breakfast when admiring the majestic sight of Xiling Gorge, which is the longest of Three Gorges. After traversing all three gorges, next stop is Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydropower and most notable dam in the world. Disembark in this monumental area and have a half-day trip in Sandouping Village.
Transfer back to the cruise ship for lunch. Early in the afternoon, you will arrive in Yichang. Then follow the tour guide to get ready for your flight to Xian.
Be warmly welcome in Xian hotel and have leisure time for the rest of the day.
Day 8: Xian (B, L, D)
Be ready for a whole day sightseeing in the imperial Xian. As the cradle of Chinese civilization, the city offers such a wide range of tourist attractions. The incredible ancient wonder Terracotta Army awaits in the first destinations. Visiting this underground palace built up by China’s first emperor, Qin Shihuang 2200 years ago offers the closer look into the mystical royal burial culture.
After refreshment in a local restaurant, take a drive back to the city center. Ride a bike along Xian City Wall and witness the iconic overview of historic, cultural Xian. Experience the authentic local taste with special Dumpling Dinner and immerse into the Tang Dynasty show. Return to the hotel and have a good night.
Day 09: Xian - Beijing by air (B, L)
Let an active day begin with a fresh breakfast in the hotel. Visit Shaanxi Provincial History Museum – a national level for the general idea of the culture and history of Xian throughout the time passage. Then continue to the most sacred place in the city, Great Mosque where the chinses and Islamic architecture blends beautifully. It is also the biggest Chinese mosque preserved since the Tang Dynasty.
Feast on lunch before the afternoon flight to the capital Beijing. The hotel room is prepared well for you to stay. Free time for the remainder of the day.
Day 10: Beijing (B, L)
After the first meal in Beijing, the tour guide will meet and escort you to Tiananmen Square. Walking around the majestic area and take great photos. Don’t miss the interesting introduction to the history, architecture, and the legends about the Square. Head to the next highlight of today, Forbidden City. It is the imperial palace for 24 Chinese emperors of over 500 years. Taste Beijing specialties in lunchtime. Continue with the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. This masterpiece of architectural style is the place where ancient emperors previously prayed for peace and harvest. It also gives an insight into Chinese culture and the practices of its civilization.
The final stop of the day is Summer Palace known as the largest imperial garden throughout the country. Then, free time for your own exploration in the capital.
Day 11: Beijing (B, L)
Breakfast is served at hotel as usual. Follow the tour guide to explore China jade culture in the Jade Mall. Next, move to Great Wall, the highlight of Beijing tour, and the symbol of China. Hiking up the longest wall in the world and enjoy the spectacular view for the rest of the morning.
After lunch, head to the Ming Tombs, a complex area where 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried. You will visit the tomb of Wanli Emperor Tomb-Dingling, which is the only one of the complex having been excavated.
Afterward, transfer back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Beijing Departure (B)
After breakfast, the tour guide will escort you to Bejing airport. The trip exploring a colorful China with Yangtze River Cruise ends. Good luck with your onward adventure!
