Full Itinerary
Day 1: Beijing Arrival
Welcome to Beijing. Upon arrival, be greeted then escorted to the city hotel by our expert local tour guide and driver. Relaxing time to recover from the jet lag and get ready for tomorrow’s itinerary.
Day 2: Beijing ( B, L)
The first morning in Beijing begins with a hearty breakfast. Then follow the tour guide to the Temple of Heaven where generations of Chinese emperors paid the homage to heaven and prayed for good harvests and peace of the whole country. Roam around the magnificent structure and catch a glimpse of the local lifestyle.
Taste the authentic Beijing cuisine in a popular restaurant nearby before heading to the Tiananmen Square – one of the largest public squares in the world. Not far from it stands the palatial Forbidden City. The majestic complex of red-painted palaces with the golden roof in the sunlight was the imperial residence of 24 Chinese emperors. Our guide will take you into the hidden halls and reveal the interesting stories captured in the historical architecture that not many tourists notices.
A rickshaw ride through the Beijing’s narrow lanes – Hutongs lined with the old-style courtyard houses will wrap up the full-day exploration. Let the drive take you back to the hotel and have a good rest.
Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
Fill up the energy with a delicious breakfast as today’s highlight is to conquer an incredible humanity’s engineering feat – the Great Wall. Take the words of President Mao to climb up the Great Wall and be “a real man”. Hike along the 5-kilometer route from the Jinshanling to Simatai West and admire the breathtaking views varying among seasons, from colorful blooming blossoms in spring, summer’s lush greenery, to the glorious scenery of endless red and golden turning leaves in fall, as well as winter’s white blanket quietly covering everything.
For a more relaxing experience, we offer a round-trip cable car to the Mutianyu section – the longest fully-restored part of the Great Wall and take stunning pictures from above. Enjoy some snacks and spend the whole day in this World’s Heritage Site.
Afterward, transfer back to the hotel and relax
Day 4: Beijing - Xian (B, L)
After breakfast, head to the tranquil Summer Palace. Follow the guide to step in the fabulous 300-year-old royal garden, take a pleasant boat ride on the lake and stroll along the long corridors to marvel at the exquisite paintings on the ceilings. Enjoy a well-deserved lunch before transferring to the city station and board the high-speed train to the ancient imperial city- Xian.
On arrival of Xian, the local tour guide and driver will wait for you and escort you to the hotel. Leisure time for the remainder of the day.
Day 5: Xian (B, L, D)
Savor the breakfast before paying a visit to the ancient wonder – the Terracotta Army. This collection of lifelike soldier figures arranged in the battle to guard Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s Tomb in his afterlife is one of the greatest archeological excavations of 20th century. Admire the dramatic exhibition and reveal the stories behind the 2000-year-old clay statue army. Continue to explore the local craftsman’s cave-dwelling. Take an exciting opportunity to make miniature clay warriors with your own hands and bring your reproductions home.
At midday, enjoy the delicious food then drive back to the city. Spend this afternoon to explore the 600-year-old Ancient City Wall. Walk, go cycling or take a golf cart ride along the wall and witness the scenic view of Xian at the sunset.
Feasting on the special dinner with Chinese dumplings before returning to the hotel for a good rest.
Day 6: Xi'an – Zhangjiajie (B, L)
The morning sightseeing tour to highlights of Xian will follow the hearty breakfast. Transfer to the Shaanxi History Museum and Big Wild Goose Pagoda to have an in-depth exploration into the ancient history and culture of the imperial city. Then drive further to the bustling Muslim Quarter. Roam around the famous food street and taste the excellent local cuisine.
Later, be escorted to the airport for your evening flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, the tour guide will come to greet and drive you to the hotel. Relax and get ready for the next day discovery.
Day 7: Zhangjiajie ( B, L)
Wake up and have a delicious breakfast. Follow your guide to take in the breathtaking natural scenery of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Enjoy the most classic sights of the park, Tianzi Mountain and Yunjiajie Scenic Area.
Take a cable car up Tianzi Mountain which is known as the Monarch of the Peak Forest. The magnificent mountain greets the tourists with its four wonders: the Sea of Clouds, the Radiance of the Moonlight, Rays of the Sunshine and the Snow in the Winter. After a simple lunch on the mountain, be amazed by the incredible stone pillars of Yunjiajie Scenic Area which served as the inspiration of floating Hallelujah Mountain in film Avatar.
Afterward, back to the hotel and relax.
Day 8: Zhangjiajie (B, L)
After the savory breakfast, take the world’s longest cable car to the top of the Tianmen Mountain and enjoy the unique natural scenery of spiky peaks under your feet during the 30 minutes on air. Hold your heartbeat when slowing going across the glass walkway before transferring to the car drive down the curvy mountain road known as the 99 Bends.
Have a delicious lunch then head to a recently developed natural wonderland – Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Immerse yourself into the marvelous landscapes of mountains, streams, caves, cliffs, and forests. Also, walking along the world’s longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge will be one of the coolest experience on your tour.
Day 9: Zhangjiajie – Guilin (B, L)
Wave goodbye to the Zhangjiajie after the breakfast, then be driven to the Changsha South Railway Station to board the bullet train to Guilin. Once you set foot in the picturesque Guilin, meet your local guide and transfer to the hotel for checking in.
Enjoy a welcome lunch and relax after a long trip.
Day 10: Guilin (B, L, D)
A wonderful morning in Guilin begins with a flavorful breakfast. Follow the guide to visit the two landmarks of the city, Reed Flute Cave and Elephant Trunk Hill. Take in the natural limestone cave illuminated with multicolored lighting, which is praised as the “Palace of the Natural Arts” of the Reed Flute Cave and climb up the Guilin’s symbol whose shape resembles a giant elephant using its trunk to drink from the fabulous Li River.
Have some refreshment for lunch and join the trip back in time when visiting the Daxu Old Town in the afternoon. This area was once the flourishing commercial premiers where lots of craftsmen and businessmen lived during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Knock on local people’s door and catch a glimpse of the old lifestyle.
As the night falls, back to the hotel and rest at leisure.
Day 11: Li River Cruise – Yangshuo (B, L)
Have breakfast and get ready for a cruise trip along the Li River – a bright pearl on the list of China’s tourist attractions. Marvel at the stunning karst hills, graceful bamboo forests and the cormorants catching fish in the gentle river which all contribute the essence of Guilin.
At noon, the ship will arrive at Yangshou where our guide is waiting to escort you to the hotel. After lunch, take a wonderful opportunity to soak up in the peaceful atmosphere and discover the tranquil countryside life.
In the evening, back to the hotel. Have some time to wander in the nearby streets before a good sleep.
Day 12: Yangshou – Shanghai (B)
Refresh with flavorful breakfast and begin a free morning touring Yangshou on your own. It is fascinating to leave the bustle and hustle of the modern life behind and relax in the beautiful natural scenery. Join a cooking class to see how magically local chefs turn various ingredients into savory dishes and enjoy the results.
In the afternoon, head to the Guilin Liangjiang International Airport for your flight to the metropolis of Shanghai. Our guide will meet you once the plane lands. Take a drive to the city hotel and have leisure time for the remainder of the day.
Day 13: Shanghai (B, L)
Savor the breakfast then follow the guide to tour around the highlighted places of the urban thriving Shanghai. Wander along the Bund promenade and take some amazing pictures. Have a trip back in time to the golden time of the Bund as stepping into the old buildings and listening to the stories behind them. It is followed by a visit to picturesque Yu Garden – an exquisite example of the traditional landscapes, and the Shanghai Old Street which will reveal the historical lifestyle of the Shanghainese.
After lunch, ascend the tallest building in China – Shanghai Tower and admire the panoramic view of the city and take in the prosperous atmosphere. The sight even becomes extremely gorgeous as the night falls and the whole city illuminates in the colorful lights.
Later, the tour guide will escort you back to the hotel for resting. Sweet night in Shanghai.
Day 14: Shanghai Departure (B)
After buffet breakfast at the hotel, the tour guide will help you with the check-out process before a drive to the airport for your flight home. Wave goodbye to Shanghai and your trip discovering the charming China ends.
